POSITION:
AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICIAN
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Transport Board invites applications from suitably qualified, self-motivated individuals for the position of Automotive Electrician. The prospective employee must be a responsible, self motivated, highly proficient and effective results-oriented individual who is willing to be part of team working in a dynamic environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and the responsibilities include
- Receiving, investigating, analyzing and resolving drivers’ complaints of electrical problems.
- Liaising with the mechanical workshop and other personnel in order to affect electrical repairs on vehicles with defects.
- Conducting systematic preventative electrical maintenance checks on the bus fleet.
- Inspecting vehicles in accordance with established safety standards.
- Performing electrical servicing of buses.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Parts 1 & 2 City & Guilds Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Electrical.
- Minimum of two ‘O’ level or equivalent certificates.
- Minimum of two years practical experience in the automotive industry working on commercial vehicles
- Possession of at least a light goods vehicle license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
- Computer literacy.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with Transport Board’s pay structure and policy.
