Continuation of Service Adjustments due to Ongoing Closure of the Bridgefield Road

The Transport Board advises the travelling public that due to the ongoing reconstruction of Highway 2 from Hangman Hill to Bridgefield Village, several bus services have been adjusted. These temporary changes are necessary to facilitate the road works and ensure the safety and reliability of service for our passengers.

The following adjustments will continue to be in effect:

  • Sturges Services
All inbound and outbound Sturges services will continue to travel via Bridgefield and turn in Forty Acres before continuing to their destinations.
  • Shorey Village and Baxter’s Bridge Services
These services will follow a designated diversion route via Shop Hill and Hangman Hill.

The continuation of the adjustments was determined following an inspection of the work zone to identify safe turning points and assess the impact on journey times.

Unfortunately, Transport Board has no timeline for the expected completion of the works, so it kindly asks passengers to allow for possible delays and thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this period.

All bus operators, including TAP, have been instructed to exercise extra caution when travelling through the affected areas. Commuters are encouraged to stay updated through official Transport Board channels and to contact us with any challenges or concerns at 535-3500 or via email at btb.customerservice@barbados.gov.bb.
