Re-commencement of work on Highway 5 in St. Philip

With the sugar crop coming to an end on Tuesday, the C.O. Williams Construction teams will resume work from next Wednesday on Highway 5 between Brereton and the old Carrington Factory yard.

As a result, all traffic will be diverted at Edgecumbe on the western side and at Six Roads in the East. Transport Board buses will accommodate commuters in the area by using Evelyn Road (just west of Carrington) connecting Brereton and Ebenezer, but as this road is extremely narrow it is highly recommended that all other traffic use the alternate highways.

A number of new wells will be sunk in the Brereton area in an effort to eliminate the flooding problem there as the entire stretch of Highway 5 is rehabilitated. You will recall that this has been done in stages over a period of time.

The C. O. Williams Construction teams urge you to drive carefully at all times and thank you for your understanding, cooperation and kind consideration as they move the earth to please.
