Press Release – Action Taken by a Select Group of Employees

Posted in Archive, Inside Transport Board . Permalink.

The Transport Board wishes to advise the travelling public that there is no dispute between the Barbados Workers Union and the Management of the Transport Board, conversely, there is an existing relationship between the two (2) parties and there are a number of measures which are being put in place at the local committee level to further enhance this relationship.

We therefore consider the action taken by a select group of employees to be highly irresponsible given the fact that the Transport Board is responsible for providing a reliable service to the Barbadian public, school children and workers alike.

It is our intention to meet with the Barbados Workers Union as soon as possible to discuss this matter.

Based on the above action, the Transport Board wishes to advice the travelling public that we will be experiencing challenges for the remainder of the day.  Unfortunately, one area which will be heavily impacted will be the school services for this evening.  Additionally, the route services will also be affected.  We apologise for this situation and we ask that the public be patient as we seek to address this matter.
